I think the only dairy-based one I truly disliked was the red velvet flavor.1: Read the FAQ before posting. Chocolate cake batter was pretty good too. I also really loved their strawberry cheesecake pint, but it was only seasonal. Their birthday cake pint is still one of my favorites. I admit I jumped right on the "birthday cake flavored everything" bandwagon when it began because I love birthday cake and that's what got me into Halo Top. I also hate coconut to the point that I'd sooner starve than eat a coconut, so I might be biased. You didn't by chance get the keto Halo Top flavors, did you? Those are made with coconut milk and I once grabbed one by mistake and it was absolutely awful. I think for some folks (not all, but some), the liking of diet ice creams is rooted in the feeling of, "Finally I can have a whole pint of ice cream and be on a diet!" and not so much a genuine liking of the flavor. Kinda wish my local stores would get in more of their flavors.īut to each their own! I'm sorry to hear you didn't find Halo Top to your liking, but everyone doesn't like everything. I personally like Halo Top, but I've been leaning more toward Nick's lately. Though, we live in the desert now, so it'd probably be soft enough if I left it for two minutes, haha Non-dairy ice creams always have that harder texture (icier for some brands) and I never have the patience to let it sit out to soften. I ran across Kroger's Simple Truth oat milk "frozen dessert" that's strawberry graham and it's a lovely treat. Salt and vinegar chips? Any more than a serving and my mouth hurts (I recently ended up with chemical burns from an off-brand salt and vinegar chips and that's sorta mentally scarred me). I love spicy stuff, but xxxtra hot Cheetos? I can't even manage a serving size most days (it also ups my water intake haha). But I tend to choose snacks that are decadent or spicy or something that forces me to only eat a little bit. I've found that cutting out all the tasty things because they're higher calorie or low nutrient isn't what works for me, so instead having a serving size (for things like chips where 100-150 calories won't break my day) or a couple scoops of something much higher cal (like everything ice cream) works better.
